The small bronze sculpture shows the father and daughter in basketball uniforms as Gigi Bryan holds her father’s hand on her shoulder, Reuters reported.

It was made by Dan Medina.

“This is all on my own, no one asked me to do it,” Medina told Reuters. “On this day, the second anniversary of the accident, I decided to bring it up from sunrise to sunset and create a bit of healing process for fans.”

The statue’s pedestal lists the names of all nine people who died on Jan. 26, 2020, along with Kobe Bryant’s quote: “Heroes come and go, but legends are forever.”

Federal investigators said the pilot of the helicopter became disoriented in foggy conditions, causing the crash, CNN reported.

Those onboard the aircraft were on the way to a youth basketball tournament at Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy, KABC reported.

Medina has also created a larger, 7-foot version of the sculpture and would like to find a place for it in downtown Los Angeles, KABC reported.
